For you, was Ableton fairly easy to use starting out? I personally never tried Ableton, so I wouldn't know.

After about an hour of tutorials I was able to have a rough idea of how to lay down midi sections, drag instruments onto them, and just click in where I want the notes. Just kinda playing around in the notes section by clicking til it sounds good, placing the note, and then playing it back til it's adjusted right is pretty fun. Hours can disappear finding the right combo, I think it's a good program and I'm a 100% newcomer to making songs.
